At heart I am a cyclist and I dabbled a year in triathlons but in reality I am not a runner. However, I decided this was the year to try to run a marathon. I am one of those persons who just goes for it. The first tri I signed up for was the Timberman Half Ironman. Total amount of swimming and running before I signed up was barely anything but I finished mid-pack. I finished with a race time just over 6.5 hours, the run was killer after biking 56 miles and swimming 1.2 miles. So what the heck, 2013 is going to be the year of the couch to marathon. I am currently just finishing week 5 of the Hal Higdon Novice Supreme training program and recovering from bronchitis. In the last two weeks I have logged 0 miles but I am finally ready to start in earnest with week 6. Thankfully I got sick way early in the training program. I will not win but I will finish. I have a reason to finish…. the Sadie Mae Animal Rescue League.
I am running to raise awareness and donations for Sadie Mae.
We just started to foster for the Sadie Mae Foundation and are happy to help save animal lives! We already on our second foster Meme.
This blog is to not only to share my experiences training for a marathon but to share our adventures being foster parents.
